Home For Gud is an Indian sweet brand in New Jersey, USA, that is built around one simple emotion: to give the comfort of home, especially for people living away from it.
Starting with Sukhdi, the brand wants to bring traditional Indian sweets to the global audience. Made with simple ingredients, its recipes mirror the care of home kitchens, is nourishing, wholesome, and healthy. More than a sweet, Home For Gud offers nostalgia, warmth, and the feeling of belonging to the ones living far away from home.
When the founder recognized that Sukhdi, a wholesome, everyday Indian sweet, was absent from the US market, she set out to introduce it to those searching for a sense of home away from home. This insight marked the beginning of Home For Gud.
We began with an in-depth study of the US confectionery and desserts market to understand consumer preferences, existing offerings, competitive gaps, and cultural nuances. The objective was to assess whether Sukhdi could resonate with audiences in the US and how it could be positioned meaningfully.
Drawing from market insights, founder conversations, and the brand’s vision, the name Home For Gud was born. Here the word 'Good' was replaced by 'Gud' (jaggery), subtly communicating the use of cleaner and healthier ingredients. We led the brand-building end to end, developing the name, logo, color palette, visual identity, moodboards, and photoshoots, crafting a brand that feels authentic, comforting, and instantly familiar.
The brand personality is rooted in Indian traditions, warmth, and nostalgia, clearly setting it apart in a crowded confectionery space.
